— THE PROJECT —
ABOUT THE PROJECT
With funding support from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC), Johannesburg Basketball Academy is implementing a National Basketball Clinics and Health & Wellness Programme.
This initiative delivers 14 basketball clinics nationwide, each engaging approximately 100 children and youth from underserved communities, with a total reach of around 1,400 participants across South Africa.
The programme is designed to expand access to structured sport while promoting positive youth development through basketball, health education, and mentorship.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
Through the delivery of 14 nationwide clinics, the programme is expected to:
Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles
Improve health awareness and lifestyle habits
Strengthen community engagement
Create employment and skills development opportunities
Develop basketball skills and fundamentals
Build teamwork, discipline, and leadership
Identify and nurture young talent
Reach approximately 1,400 children and youth
Each clinic is a structured 2-day community event (Saturday and Sunday), designed to maximise participation and impact. All clinics are delivered by qualified coaches, supported by local basketball clubs and community organisations.
